Taking another drink from the glass of water, Marina shook her head and sighed. “That’s the thing…He is a police officer…So I can’t really go to the police because he will find me there, like he did last time and well that didn’t really end well…” Letting out a big sigh, she smiled at the other man. “Thank you…but I’d rather you not get involved, I wouldn’t like to see you get hurt because of me.”

She was starting to get tired from standing so much, especially after running from her crazy boyfriend, so she decided to find the nearest table and sat down, placing her high heels next to her on the floor, gesturing for the other man to come join her.

image

{ ♫ } — “I’m sorry but when you ran into my store and hid behind the counter you kind of dragged me into it automatically,” Bill said as he joined her over to the table she was seated with. “Plus, I am not going to let you walk out of that door as if this never happened. I’ll feel bad for the rest of my life.”

image

"Now about the problem at hand – if you can’t go, then I’ll go for you.“ Bill really meant that. He was fragile and weak, and could never take on a guy like that, but he had his brother – and he didn’t have to solve this with violence. If this man was a cop, and he was doing that kind of stuff to someone he was supposed to cherish and love, then Bill was going to fix it somehow.

Loki nodded and sighed, as he turned his head to stare out the window, watching everything go by. The bus journey seemed to go on forever for Loki and he was starting to get restless from sitting in the seat. After a few minutes of silence between him and the other man, he decided he would try and start a conversation with him. “I’m not particularity fond of this place, I don’t see why they keep banishing me here…I don’t see how you can stand even living here…” He mumbled, stealing a few glances at Bill before staring back out the window.

image

{ ♫ } — The silence was something Bill was rather used to, so he didn’t do much other than look at his own hands most of the ride. He usually had his phone so he could listen to music, but right now it would be rude to do so. When Loki spoke, Bill turned his attention back to him. “I don’t,” was his only answer to him. Bill couldn’t stand living there. Honestly – he thought about leaving it many times, but had never gotten the guts to actually do it. This was kept to himself though, and he decided to talk about something else so Loki wouldn’t question him.

“My brother lives somewhere else. It’s nicer there!”

When he was directed on the bus and sat down, he turned to Bill smiling. “Oh, so that is what you call…this…place?” He said gesturing around. “I do find it quite…Dull down here if I have to be honest.” Loki sighed and slumped back on the seat. “This is quite certainty weird, this bus thing…How long do we have to be on it before we reach where we are heading to?” Still slumped down in the seat, he turned his head to Bill, staring at him.

{ ♫ } — “I’m not fond of buses myself,” Bill mumbled as he looked around himself. “We gotta sit here for maybe half and hour or so.. You came from a place that’s pretty far away.” He shrugged. Sitting on a bus was uncomfortable, and it was obvious on the teenager that he disliked it. There was absolutely no personal space there, and there was always people talking too loud or children being annoying… It didn’t smell that nice either. Basically; buses were not that inviting.

Accepting the glass of water and thanking him before taking a small sip of it and putting it down on the counter. “Well…That guy you just spoke with? He’s my boyfriend…” Looking around to double check he wasn’t anywhere to be seen, she leaned in and whispered “…But he’s been abusing me for weeks now and he threatened to kill me tonight…so I ran away out his apartment and…well…here we are…” She gave a small, shy smile to the taller man before stepping back and giving him space.

image

{ ♫ } — “Abused?” Bill was surprised that the other one had told him something so.. personal. But at the same time he understood her. Maybe she just really needed it out? He didn’t ask, because he had gotten enough information now. “And you… haven’t gone to the police?” That was about the first thing Bill thought about. If she was being hurt and threatened by someone, she had all the rights to go to the police and make it stop. “I’ll help you keep him away, but you really need to do something more than hide…"

Hearing a male’s voice next to her, she looked up and saw him talking to the man she had been running from. When she heard the guy mention her, she froze and held her breath, hoping the stranger behind the counter didn’t see her and give her away. Once Marina heard the man leave, she let out a sigh of relief before looking up to the taller man and smiling. “T-Thanks for not…giving me…away…” She said between small shaky breaths.

{ ♫ } — It didn’t take long until Bill had managed to make the man leave, and before he got do do anything else, the woman had gotten to her feet and was now talking to him. Chocolate-brown eyes turned to her and he blinked before he smiled to her. He then went and got her a glass of ice cold water, seeing as she looked tired as hell. “No problem.” He was wondering if questioning the whole thing was a good idea, but then again – bursting out with questions would maybe be too much, so Bill decided to try and go easy.

“Can I ask what just happened…?”

Fuck…Fuck…He’s going to kill me. Marina thought to herself as she ran down the street, taking small glimpse behind her, to see if he was any close to her. Stopping for a second to take off her high heels to help her run faster, and so she wouldn’t fall and herself anymore than she already was. Picking up her pace again she decided she would run into the nearest shop she came up to, which so happened to be the local cafe. Running through the fast she could, she ran up behind the counter, even though that was only for staff, she was too scared to care if she was caught. Kneeling down and catching her breath, Marina looked behind the counter, seeing him enter the cafe, she quickly went back to hiding so he wouldn’t see her.

image

{ ♫ } — It was a rather quiet day in the cafe. Bill wasn’t surprised, since today wasn’t the day to get up and go eat there anyways, yet he was stuck working there. Oh well, at least he had all the sweets to himself and nobody was there to stop him from enjoying it. Speaking of that – Bill was just enjoying a small cookie when he heard the bell of the cafe ring, making him look up just in time to follow the stranger with his gaze, frowning when she seemed to crouch down and.. hide? Bill barely got the time to let out an ‘excuse me’, but then the bell rang again, and he turned to look to the door. A man had come inside now, and Bill added one and one immediately, giving the girl a quick glance that went unnoticed before he turned his attention to the man. “May I help you, sir?”
