“Oh, well, I’m glad I was some source of entertainment for you” Marina laughed as she reached down and began putting her shoes on. She stood up straight, fixing her dress, before walking over to stand next to Bill. When standing next to him, she finally realised how tall he was next to her. “Wow. you are pretty tall!” She said with a shocked expression before bursting out laughing. “Anyway, I guess we are leaving yeah?”

{ ♫ } — Bill chuckled. “That’s the one thing that points out the difference between me and my brother – our height.” Other than that they were identical – only that Bill wore make-up and dressed in a way that had him look much more different that Tom. “Yep! We’re going.” He went out of the door, his bag on his shoulder. He waited for Marina to come outside, then he looked the door and found his pack of cigarettes. While he lit one, he walked slowly into the direction of his apartment, and when that was done; he turned to Marina to make sure she was following.

Loki jumped back, pushing the seat back, when he heard Bill scream and push the lamp of the night stand. “Woah, woah, woah! Bill stay calm! What’s got you acting like this?” He asked while trying to keep him calm as possible, without going near him or touching him, just in case that upset him more than he already was. He wasn’t really sure what to do in this situation to be honest and he hopes he never will be again. Looking round, trying to figure out what to do, he was starting to panic so he said the most obvious thing to say. “Will…Will I go get a doctor for you?”

{ ♫ } — He was not going to stay calm – no – instead; he let out another ear shattering scream, sending his elbows into the back of the bed as hard as he could. Then he suddenly jumped out of the bed and stumbled to where the lamp had fallen, picking up a broken piece. Instead of using it; he just held it as hard as he could between his hands, which resulted in them being badly injured. He also collapsed in the remaining pieces on the floor, letting out loud sobs. The door burst open, and three men came in. One of them was the doctor from earlier, while the two others were men to help. They tried to get Bill out of the pieces on the floor, succeeding and getting him to the bed. It took some time for them to get the piece held tightly between the teens hands, but when it was finally removed, all Bill did was examine his blood stained and trembling hands.

When he saw the other man rise for a second, he froze in the spot he was standing on. He was about to speak before Bill laid back down, staring at the ceiling. Not sure what to say, he decided he would just sit down next to him and wait for him to speak. Hours had went by before Loki finally decided to speak. “…Are you…Are you okay…?” He asked quietly not wanting to be too loud so he wouldn’t disturb Bill or upset him in anyway by asking too much.

image

{ ♫ } — It was quiet for a long time, and Bill had no intentions of talking. There was nothing to say. That’s why he jumped when Loki suddenly spoke, and he blinked as he turned his gaze to the other one. Very carefully; he sat up, back against the bed. He looked down at the bandages around his wrists, frowning before he sighed. He didn’t actually answer Loki’s question, but he muttered silently to himself; “I failed again.. Fuck…” A hand covered his face before he suddenly reached out and swept down the lamp on the night stand next to him, letting out a loud scream.

He must have been standing there for hours before another employee had turned up. The employee stared at Loki before slowly looking him up and down, stopping at his scepter. It took the employee a while before she could open her voice and what came out was not what Loki  was expecting to be honest. “What do you mean he’s in the hospital?!” Loki started to panic, because when when Asgardians went to hospital they never came out, so Loki thought that Bill was dead. Once he got the details to where the hospital was located, he quickly ran to it, not wanting to waste anytime, knowing Bill could be dead at any moment.

image

Running down the road, finally reaching the hospital, he quickly ran in. As usual he didn’t know how Midgardians things worked so he just ran in not stopping to ask where Bill was. Although he was stopped by a member of the staff, after a couples of minutes explaining to the man who he was and why he was he here, he was finally directed to where Bill was. Slowly walking into the room that the younger man was in, he saw him lying in his bed, sleeping. Looking down at the other man’s wrist he saw he was bandaged up with quite firmly, making Loki squint his eyes and slowly walk over to the bed that Bill was lying in, not wanting to wake up him, he decided he’d just stand, so he wouldn’t make a noise by moving the chair. Standing there, watching Bill’s chest move up and down, he felt some kind of pain in his chest from just lying there. Looking down at the floor, he wondered, was he starting to feel things for this Midgardian ?

{ ♫ } — It had all happened so fast; Bill hadn’t been awake to see it, but in a matter of ten minutes the ambulance had come to his place, managed to get him back to the hospital, and gotten him in a stable condition. He had lost a lot of blood, but they were just in time to save him. His brother was already on his way to Los Angeles, currently on a plane that still had some hours until it would land, and during all of this; Bill had been unconscious. Then he’d been sleeping, and sleeping was what he had done ever since he had been put in the bed, connected to different machines to keep him stable. The Doctors had talked about a possible coma, and that was about it.

The boy started to get his senses back, and first he heard breathing in the room for a few seconds, then he was able to open his eyes. A whisper escaped him; the name of his brother. When his vision wasn’t blurry anymore, he could finally see that it was Loki, and Bill frowned before he tried to sit up; only to groan and lie back down. He was tired… Really tired. Even though he had slept for hours now he still felt like he needed some more sleep. He just couldn’t bring himself to do so as his gaze rested on the white ceiling above him.

It was hours before Loki had finally reached town and the sun was starting to come up. Although he wasn’t finished walking just yet, he still had to find the cafe again, so he can speak to Bill again. Looking around at everyone who passed him, he started to realise he was getting strange looks, it didn’t take him long to realise that the weird looks were to him carrying around his scepter but he didn’t have anywhere else to put it, so carrying it was the easiest thing.  Loki was getting really tired with all the walking he had been doing, all he wanted was find the cafe, find Bill and apologise to him and also prove him very wrong for saying everything that Loki said to him was fake.

image

He finally reached the bottom of the street he was walking on, when he finally found the cafe. Although it wasn’t open yet, so he decided to walk outside, until either an other employee showed up or Bill. Loki wasn’t particularly the patient type, but it was worth it to see Bill again.

{ ♫ } — Bill almost slammed the door shut as he quickly went to his drawers. He almost pulled the whole thing out, reaching in for his first aid kit. Then he opened it, revealing a set of blades, but also bandage and the normal stuff. He got all of the sharp objects out, frowning as he tried to find the sharpest one – then when he had chosen his last blade; he turned the shower on. He didn’t even bother to get undressed. He just took off his sweater so his arms would be exposed. Then he got in the shower, feeling the water soak him and make the earlier cuts sting.

He took some time – heard the phone ringing in the hall for maybe the millionth time – then he sat down and placed the blade against his wrist. He let out a soft sob, closed his eyes, and then it had been done. The pain shot through him, and he gained enough strength to repeat the action on his other wrist as well before the blade was dropped with trembling hands. Bill let out a scream, then another – he let it all out in his last minutes, all the energy he had before everything went black – the ringing in the hall stopping.

Nodding and smiling at the other man. “Yeah, that sounds good and it’ll mean you won’t need to work as much, since I’ll be here to help.” She didn’t have much more to stay so she decided to look around, get a proper look at the cafe since this was the first time she has ever been in, which was a surprise since she had been living here for months. Turning back to to Bill, she pushed her lips out, letting some air out between them. “Is there anything I could do for you now?” Marina asked wanting to take some of the weight of working off of Bill, after all the help he’s doing for her, it’s the least she could do for him.

image

{ ♫ } — “Well – there’s not really a lot you can do right now since there’s barely people here, and it’s gonna stay like this for most of the day, but things you will probably help me with when the whole thing with – you know – is over; I’ll teach you everything so you can automatically take care of things.” Bill smiled.

The minutes went fast, and Bill was right about there barely being people coming in. The cafe finally came to the right time to close, and Bill let out a sigh in relief. “Finally.. Gets so boring being here sometimes. Wouldn’t it have been for you coming I would probably die of boredom.”

Even though he was set on finding his scepter, he couldn’t help but think of Bill and wonder why he suddenly got so angry with him. Loki knew he deserved it but he still worried about what was going on with Bill. Still he kept going and walked around the empty field for hours long, trying to find the scepter, even though he was starting to get tired. God, why I did I let him leave. This stupid thing could have been found by now, but instead I’m still aimlessly looking for it. I guess I deserve it after shouting at him and threatening him. Loki shook his head, feeling stupid for letting a stupid mortal, who he just met, get to him.

image

It was starting to get dark before Loki finally found his scepter, glowing in the moon light. He ran over to it, picking it up and checking it over to see if it was still working or not. Once he saw it was still working, he turned round and tried to find his way out the field. Finally finding his way out the field, he started to walking back in town to go and hopefully find Bill, to prove to him that everything that he was talking to was real.

image

{ ♫ } — Bill got bored of what was going on on the television, plus he never got to pay attention since his eyes had to be on his wrist for now. It triggered him to see the cuts on his own arm, and he wanted to make it worse – let it bleed – make himself bleed out. He sighed before he got up and as he passed his home phone, he saw the light blinking. He had gotten a message. Clicking to hear, Bill wandered to get some clean clothes for a shower he wanted.

image

-- Bill! I'm worried. You haven't replied to any
of my messages or calls. Call me back -- I just
want to make sure you're okay.

Bill smiled. Typical Tomi.. Before he went in the shower, he fulfilled his brother’s wish by calling him. Tom had been worried since Bill hadn’t replied after he told about Loki, and when Bill had re-assured him it was fine, Tom brought up something that happened just a few days ago; Bill’s suicide attempt. The mood changed, and Bill went mute before he hung up unexpectedly and went to the shower.

Marina laughed and nodded. “That sounds like a good idea! I’ll keep me busy and hopefully out of sight from my boyfriend.” She smiled at Bill, a properly real smile, something she hasn’t done for months so it felt strange to her, but she kept the smile on her face knowing it was finally a real smile. “I’ll help you out with anything you need helping with, it’s the least I can do after all you’ve done for me. Especially since we just met.” Still smiling, she looked around, noticing that some customers were coming in, that obviously were needing to be served. “Looks like you have some customers needing served.” Marina said, nodding over to the direction of the customers to allow Bill know about them.

image

{ ♫ } — “He’s not your boyfriend according to me–” Bill commented, then he turned to look into the direction she had nodded, blinking. The teen shot up and moved over to the counter, smiling kindly to the customers. “Hello! Do you need anything?” It was a normal order – nothing much, so Bill could handle it himself for now. The customers got what they needed and were seated with their food, Bill letting out a sigh as he moved back over to Marina. “One day I need to show you how to make the things we have here – because then it’ll go way faster and be less stressful during weekdays.” He nodded to himself to confirm that.

[| homewreck–er |]

Not wanting to anger Bill anymore than he already he has, he decided to let him go and find the scepter himself, to prove him wrong, that Asgard and the scepter was real, that he wasn’t lying or making anything up. After a few seconds of watching Bill walk away, he decided to turn round to go and find the scepter.

image

Loki soon realised how hard it was going to be doing this by himself and that he really did need Bill. Although  he did really feel bad for dragging him out all the way here for nothing…For being mean to him and shouting at him…He should should have just left Bill alone to start off with. For a second Loki stopped and widened his eyes. Has this mortal turned me soft…Who am I…Why am I letting him just walk away and get his way…Who am I…? The frost giant thought to himself before he started to walk around looking for his scepter.

{ ♫ } — Bill did not turn back. He was relieved that the other one was no longer following him, and as he got on the bus, he tried to see if Loki was somehow trying to follow – but there was no sign of him. Bill sighed, wondering if Loki would make it back safely, but that was about it before he took his phone and plugged in his earbuds. The bus ride was slower than earlier, but he got off at the time it was getting dark, and hurried to his apartment before it got colder.

image

When he was home, the first thing he did was take off his coat and wrap up the sleeve of his sweater. It stung a bit, because just like he feared; the cuts had been re-opened. Bill sighed and got himself a wet cloth, patting the wounds carefully to clean them as he sat down to turn on the television. Loki was still in the back of his mind, but his wrist came first right now… That crazy guy would never understand… No one ever did.

[| homewreck–er |]

image

Shocked at what came out the other man’s mouth, Loki stood there with a sad frown on his face. “Bill! Don’t walk away!” He shouted after the younger man, as he walked after him. “I know I was horrible to you and I know I have most likely hurt you but trust me.” He let out a big sigh still walking after Bill. “Trust my rage.” Not wanting to let Bill get away, he picked up his pace and ran in front of him to try and stop him from getting any further away, staring at him, out of breath from all the running he had been doing to keep the other man from leaving.

image

{ ♫ } — “Do you even listen!?” Bill wasn’t the guy to be yelling at someone. He’d usually try his best to avoid those kind of situations – but when he first got angry, there was no way one could make him calm down unless he was left alone to do so himself. “I told you to leave me alone! Go find that stupid imaginary scepter of yours and return to Narnia or whatever it is you want to go!” No matter what Loki said, no matter how much he would try to stop him, Bill was not going to give up that easily. You could call him stubborn – he wouldn’t exactly deny it. “If you don’t stop – I will call my brother. He will come after you.” He was pulling the strings now, and once again pushed his way past the taller one. Once again he muttered something in his mother tongue to himself, still holding onto his wrist with a trembling hand.
