When he saw the other man rise for a second, he froze in the spot he was standing on. He was about to speak before Bill laid back down, staring at the ceiling. Not sure what to say, he decided he would just sit down next to him and wait for him to speak. Hours had went by before Loki finally decided to speak. “…Are you…Are you okay…?” He asked quietly not wanting to be too loud so he wouldn’t disturb Bill or upset him in anyway by asking too much.
{ ♫ } — It was quiet for a long time, and Bill had no intentions of talking. There was nothing to say. That’s why he jumped when Loki suddenly spoke, and he blinked as he turned his gaze to the other one. Very carefully; he sat up, back against the bed. He looked down at the bandages around his wrists, frowning before he sighed. He didn’t actually answer Loki’s question, but he muttered silently to himself; “I failed again.. Fuck…” A hand covered his face before he suddenly reached out and swept down the lamp on the night stand next to him, letting out a loud scream.
Even though he was set on finding his scepter, he couldn’t help but think of Bill and wonder why he suddenly got so angry with him. Loki knew he deserved it but he still worried about what was going on with Bill. Still he kept going and walked around the empty field for hours long, trying to find the scepter, even though he was starting to get tired. God, why I did I let him leave. This stupid thing could have been found by now, but instead I’m still aimlessly looking for it. I guess I deserve it after shouting at him and threatening him. Loki shook his head, feeling stupid for letting a stupid mortal, who he just met, get to him.
It was starting to get dark before Loki finally found his scepter, glowing in the moon light. He ran over to it, picking it up and checking it over to see if it was still working or not. Once he saw it was still working, he turned round and tried to find his way out the field. Finally finding his way out the field, he started to walking back in town to go and hopefully find Bill, to prove to him that everything that he was talking to was real.
{ ♫ } — Bill got bored of what was going on on the television, plus he never got to pay attention since his eyes had to be on his wrist for now. It triggered him to see the cuts on his own arm, and he wanted to make it worse – let it bleed – make himself bleed out. He sighed before he got up and as he passed his home phone, he saw the light blinking. He had gotten a message. Clicking to hear, Bill wandered to get some clean clothes for a shower he wanted.
-- Bill! I'm worried. You haven't replied to any of my messages or calls. Call me back -- I just want to make sure you're okay.
Bill smiled. Typical Tomi.. Before he went in the shower, he fulfilled his brother’s wish by calling him. Tom had been worried since Bill hadn’t replied after he told about Loki, and when Bill had re-assured him it was fine, Tom brought up something that happened just a few days ago; Bill’s suicide attempt. The mood changed, and Bill went mute before he hung up unexpectedly and went to the shower.
Not wanting to anger Bill anymore than he already he has, he decided to let him go and find the scepter himself, to prove him wrong, that Asgard and the scepter was real, that he wasn’t lying or making anything up. After a few seconds of watching Bill walk away, he decided to turn round to go and find the scepter.
Loki soon realised how hard it was going to be doing this by himself and that he really did need Bill. Although he did really feel bad for dragging him out all the way here for nothing…For being mean to him and shouting at him…He should should have just left Bill alone to start off with. For a second Loki stopped and widened his eyes. Has this mortal turned me soft…Who am I…Why am I letting him just walk away and get his way…Who am I…? The frost giant thought to himself before he started to walk around looking for his scepter.
{ ♫ } — Bill did not turn back. He was relieved that the other one was no longer following him, and as he got on the bus, he tried to see if Loki was somehow trying to follow – but there was no sign of him. Bill sighed, wondering if Loki would make it back safely, but that was about it before he took his phone and plugged in his earbuds. The bus ride was slower than earlier, but he got off at the time it was getting dark, and hurried to his apartment before it got colder.
When he was home, the first thing he did was take off his coat and wrap up the sleeve of his sweater. It stung a bit, because just like he feared; the cuts had been re-opened. Bill sighed and got himself a wet cloth, patting the wounds carefully to clean them as he sat down to turn on the television. Loki was still in the back of his mind, but his wrist came first right now… That crazy guy would never understand… No one ever did.
